Amazing glazed extension for Little Houghton home

Bespoke Timber and aluminium conservatory

Our installation team have recently undertaken an impressive glazed extension at a home in Little Houghton in Northamptonshire. The conservatory formed part of a larger modern single story extension comprising of an indoor swimming pool, all of which are situated to the rear of the property.

The building work included the construction of a solid concrete base with the installation of three sets of aluminium bifolding doors, allowing our client to open up the extension to the garden area. A wood cladded area was construction to one side of the building and the structure is reinforced by a bespoke steel construction which supports a glass roof made from Pilkington Activ™ Blue glass.

The bifolding doors and glass roof allow a tremendous amount of light into this part of the building, whilst both doors and roof offer superior insulation properties. In fact, the Activ™ Blue glass roof provides superior solar control benefits, helping to keep the room warm in colder months but also reflecting excess heat from the sun in warmer summer months. All of which make the conservatory highly usable all year round.

A grey/green colour was chosen for the conservatory this compliments the existing part of the building, helping to match in with the tiled roof behind. All elements of the conservatory were sprayed by our in-house manufacturing team. We are able to provide all manner of bespoke colours in any RAL colour, this particular colour is a RAL 7009 grey/green.

At Win-Dor we are specialists in conservatories and orangeries, from traditional Victorian or Edwardian styles to modern reverse lean-to conservatories and bespoke designs with bifolding doors like this example in Little Houghton.
